The Caizo is designed to protect your knees from blows, therefore it has a hard plastic interior with padding. It also covers both the inside and outside of the knee, without restricting mobility.The outside is made from leather and the inside is linen.
The knee guards are named after Captain Caizo, who trained Guy Chabot de Jarnac before his duel with François de Vivonne, seigneur de La Châtaigneraye. He taught him a strike to the back of the knee, which would decide the outcome of the duel.
